A high-profile Kenyan and Somali delegation led by the cabinet secretary for foreign affairs Dr Monica Juma and her counterpart from Somalia Ahmed Isse Awad held a joint meeting in Mandera County on Tuesday.
The meeting was aimed at bolstering Kenya-Somalia bilateral ties and devise strategies of dealing with terrorism.
Working together with the war-torn Somalia to pacify it was a key area of discussion.
The meeting in Mandera Town was the first in many years.
It’s the first Joint Commission for Cooperation (JCC) to take place outside the capital city Nairobi under Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
