Somali National Army on Tuesday killed over 30 foreign fighters after conducting planned operations in Jilib district in middle Jubba region, 380 Km south of Mogadishu, SONNA reported.
Security agencies told Somali National News Agency that two consecutive military operations targeted foreign terrorist fighters with Kenyan and Sudanese nationalities and their translators.
Bashir Mohamed Mohamud aka Qor-gab, Al-Shabaab commander, together militants was seriously wounded in the second operation according to security agencies sources.
This military victory comes hours after speculations over the death of Al-Shabaab, Sheikh Abu Ubeyda who was suffering from cancer and power struggle in the group.
