Ministry of Post, Telecommunications and Technology has officially launched a consultation process for three policies: Spectrum, Numbering and Interconnection.
The draft policies are aimed at regulating the use of spectrum and numbering resources and policy for interconnection of telecom operators and are also linked to the National ICT Policy and Strategy for 2019-2024.
Abdiaziz Isaq, Director General of the Ministry, explained the importance of these policies for the ICT sector. He said these policies, once finalized, would inform Ministry’s engagement with the sector through the regulator, adding that all stakeholders are invited to submit their comments in writing to the designated email latest by January 10th, 2020.
In his opening remarks, H. E. Abdullahi Bile Nur, Minister of State for Post, Telecommunications and Technology, noted that these draft policies are part of Ministry’s efforts to implement the law, National ICT Policy and Strategy, and milestones in the Economic Roadmap of the Federal Government.
