The body of the late mayor of Mogadishu Abdirahman Omar Osman (Eng. Yarisow) was brought into the country form Doha Were he succumbed to injuries he sustained from suicide attack at his office in Mogadishu City hall a week ago.
Officials from the government of Somalia led by the president of Somalia Mohamed Abdullah Farmajo observed funeral prayers for the deceased at Aden Ade International airport.
The Qatari air force plane torched down as family and friends waited, immediately the body was removed from the plane the casket was wrapped with the Somali flag as he late mayor was a national hero. He was given a full state sendoff, he died while on duty and he paid the ultimate price for his nation and his people.
After the prayers president Farmajo personally condoled with family and assured them the entire nation mourns with them and everyone feels the pain of losing the good man he was.
The funeral was attended by the prime minister Hassan Ali Khyre, his deputy Hon Mahdi Mohamed Gulled, speakers of both houses, members of parliament, senators, ministers, security officers, family and close friends.
Finally, different units of the armed forces paid their last respect as the late Mogadishu mayor Eng. Yarisow was laid to rest.
The people of Somalia will remember him for his unshaken patriotism, His constant efforts to improve the lives of many and his campaign to improve the security of the capital. The former mayor had a vision for the city which he saw a safer Mogadishu and one that is prosperous. He strived had to bring justice to the most vulnerable in the society.
