Somali National Army carried out a special operation against terrorist militant group of Al-Shabaab in Kurtuwarey district in lower Shabelle region and destroyed terrorist network bases there, SONNA reported.
Governor of lower Shabelle region, Ibrahim Aden Najah told Somali National News Agency that SNA Unit backed by the African Union Peacekeeping Troops conducted the operation on Wednesday.
“ The joint forces entered into the town and destroyed bases where terrorist militants used to organize terrorist attacks against our people,” Mr. Najah said.
He added that the joint forces returned back to their bases after the successful operation there.
