Hirshabelle State electoral team on Tuesday set time-table for the election of 11 seats for the House of People that will be held in the state’s second electoral district, Beledweyne town in Hiiraan region, SONNA reported.
The elections are expected to be held in on 8th and 9th March
Over 180 members of the Federal Parliament were elected to House of the People so far.
Election of the 11 seats of the Upper House seats from Somaliland was held and concluded at Afisiyone camp here in Mogadishu on September 30, 2021 while election of 46 seats for the Somaliland was also completed on Februray 21st 2022.
5 seats for Banadiri quota in Benadir region was held yesterday here in Mogadishu.
54 seats for Somalia’s Upper House and 75 percent for House of the People elections of the Federal Parliament were successfully held so far according to the electoral team.
Somalia’s International Partners urged the Prime Minister and regional leaders to focus on the rapid implementation of the agreed decision so that a credible electoral process can be held and concluded on time.
